Seiko 7123-7110
The 7123-7110 is a Seiko Type II quartz with day-date, on the Daini 7123 caliber introduced in 1978. Type II was Seiko's mid-priced quartz range, catalogued from 1976 to 1984. The dial reads SEIKO QUARTZ, then the quartz emblem, TYPE II and the Daini mark above 6, with applied markers and hands carrying a black centre stripe and no lume. This example has a kanji day wheel. The 7123 has a quickset day-date. When one stops, the usual causes are dried lubricant stalling the stepper motor or a failed circuit block or coil, which need donor parts. The submitter says the bracelet is original.

How do I date this reference?
The caseback features a six-digit serial number where the first digit represents the year and the second digit indicates the month (1-9, O for October, N for November, D for December). Because the 7123 caliber was produced from the late 1970s into the early 1980s, a serial starting with "8" or "9" means 1978 or 1979.
What common issues does the 7123 movement have?
While the 7123 movement has a robust metal gear train, it can fail when dried lubricants increase resistance and cause the stepper motor to stop. Circuit block failures and damaged coils are also known issues that require donor parts to fix.
